Sports Day Wrap-Up
Our annual Sports Day on June 13th, was a fantastic success, filled with energy, enthusiasm, and strong displays of sportsmanship and teamwork from all students. Congratulations to Mildred for taking out the overall win! A special mention to our house captains for their growing and positive leadership, guiding their teams with pride and encouragement throughout the day. A huge thank you to the Sports Day committee for their efforts behind the scenes, the Parent Club for running the food and drink stalls, Bubbles and Froth for keeping everyone caffeinated, and all the other helpers who supported the event in big and small ways. The perfect weather topped off what was a brilliant day for our school community.

House captains' comments......
At Sports Day it was so fun. At the start, all the house captains did a speech to the whole school including parents. Afterwards we got to do our fun health hustle which was called ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’. Then we got to scream our teams' names with our war cries. The whole school then separated into our year groups, and we started our events. After our events we did novelty events and tug-of-war with all the teams. We ended with parents' vs teachers which was fun to watch. Then we got to do our war cry and health hustle again. Lastly Mr. Nicholls announced the awards like best dressed, athlete of the day and the overall winner. Sadly, our team Bond didn't win and came second, losing by 3 points. It hurt but we still congratulated Mildred for their first win since 2017. Overall sports day was very fun and happy day, and we hope everyone enjoyed it.
Kind regards, Lacey and Monique.
On Sports day I think that everyone was really helpful including the year 5’s and 6’s. Everyone was helping and being so nice, and all the kids were listening to instructions as well as being quiet. Overall, I think it was a really good day not just for me as a house leader but for everyone involved.
Thanks Sophie
I was happy to be a house captain for Mildred. Our house did really well, and I was proud for the other captains on how good they did for their houses. I had a great time playing against my mates and against the three other houses. I was especially proud of Mildred for putting all of their power and work in this year. It was amazing that we won.
Thanks, Amarlie
At Sports Day, Ayble and I were the house captains of Sanderson, and it was a really fun day. It was competitive and taught us new lessons such as how to be a leader and have responsibilities.
Thanks Indy
Sports Day was a successful day in terms of Sanderson trying their best. Indy and I did pretty good for not knowing each other very well. We were pretty synched during the dance, and we also did a good job at yelling our war cry, so we set a pretty good example for the younger students who may want to be a house captain in their later years. We both did very well in our events and during the novelty events we showed how good our team can be even though we lost at the end of the day.
Thanks, Ayble
I had the privilege of being the house captain of Hartley this year. Leading a spirited team was an incredible experience. I had a lot of fun with helping everyone on the day getting to lead the little kids. I got to do lots of the novelty events and even won some of them too. My most favourite part of the day was leading and cheering on the little kids during the novelty events.
Thanks Owen
I had the honour to be the house captain for Hartley this year and I was accompanied by my fellow classmate and vice-captain Owen Southern. I was helping the littler kids when they needed help with the novelty events and being encouraging to help the kids do their best. I arranged the teams by asking people what they wanted to be in. I had a great day.
Thanks, Jax
